Reporting to the Commissioning and Startup (CSU) Lead, the CSU Operator will be a key player working closely with the CSU Lead, CSU discipline craft leads and the client secondee team to ensure systems are ready for Operations and Start-Up. The CSU Operator is responsible for site CSU activity execution aligning with the project schedule and CSU plans. The CSU Operator will be receiving direction from the CSU Lead executing work safely and efficiently.


  • Support and demonstrate personal Safety Leadership in accordance with EPFC’s Environment Health and Safety Program
  • Execute CSU activities in a timely and safe manner
  • Study and learn new process systems, ability to train and mentor others in unit operation
  • Document and report CSU activity status to CSU Leads
  • Support LOTO/Permitting coordination as required utilizing either client or EPFC requirements with secondee operation support
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills; communicates effectively with various contacts
  • Plan, prepare, execute, and complete commissioning activities
  • Support system start-up, identify issues, trouble shoot and propose solutions
  • Able to work night shift when required as per schedule requirements during start-up
  • Able to take process samples and carry out sample testing
  • Strong knowledge of PID interpretation and able to carry out line labelling as per client style 


  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Plant Operations, Construction and CSU activities is required
  • A minimum of a 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate is preferred
  • Gas plant specific experience is preferred, but other related experience will be considered
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings such as P&ID, Plot Plan, Isometrics, etc.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures in a plant/field environment is considered an asset
  • Basic knowledge of computer software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal direction
  • Position location will be a rotational site-based role with a backshift
  • This is a camp position, 14 & 14 shift rotation with vehicle and travel allowance
