CSA DESIGNER

The Civil Structural Designer is responsible for providing technical support to project teams in the areas of structural design and technical drawing production. The designer should be well-versed in the national building code, industry practices, and design review processes. Additionally, the Civil Structural Designer is responsible for offering support in all stages of the project, from the initial feed phase to fabrication and construction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Model and develop 3D structural models and conceptual designs from engineering sketches or prints using Advance Steel.
  • Produce 2D structural drawings from 3D models in Advance Steel.
  • Produce detailed structural fabrication drawings.
  • Generate MTO’s from Advanced steel model.

YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively with all clients, both internal and external.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiar with The National Building Code and PIP Engineering Standards.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical school graduate in Engineering Design & Drafting Technology with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Competent understanding of drafting principles, structural design, and engineering concepts.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Advance Steel and Navisworks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Preference will be given to those candidates who have prior experience with a packager or fabricator.
