Under the direction of a senior designer plans and carries out non-routine technical assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Resolves problems, interprets specifications, and investigates design difficulties. Participates in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives.


  • Solve design problems by use of engineering knowledge, and application of relevant codes and standards
  • Have knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, materials, and industry standards applied to design work.
  • Nurture and maintain strong client relationships in and for execution of projects
  • Attend project and team meetings.
  • Complete engineering calculations, and review design drawings and documents within the mechanical team.
  • Assist with preparing bid documentation
  • Provide support to senior mechanical engineering staff
  • Knowledge of API, ASME and CSA codes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal direction.


  • University graduate in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience coupled with a EIT designation.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong focus on execution with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel)
  • Preference will be given to those candidates who have prior oil and gas, fabrication or EPCM experience.
